‘The history, present and future role of textiles in Bradford’
‘We would be delighted if you would join us for a half day event on the role of textiles in Bradford. The SDC was founded in Bradford in 1884, when it was the ‘wool capital of the world’. We’re still here and we want to play a role in the regeneration of Bradford. The SDC is an educational charity. Our mission is to communicate the science of colour. We are home to the only colour experience (formerly known as the colour museum) in the UK, based here at Perkin House. We’d love to show you round our building. You will also have the opportunity to hear from some of the key people working in the industry today. There will be presentations on the past and present role of textiles as well as an opportunity to talk about what the future role might be. The day is free to attend and includes a buffet lunch but we need to know numbers for catering! If you would like to attend, or would like more information, please get in touch. We will send out a more detailed programme in early September’.
