Huddersfield Textile Society to Become a CIC

At our AGM on 17th September, members gave their approval for the Huddersfield Textile Society to change its legal status to a Community Interest Company (CIC).
This step modernises our structure, protecting the Society’s assets through an “Asset Lock” while giving committee members the option to serve as Directors with limited liability. Day-to-day, little will change for members: you will still attend the AGM, receive reports, elect the Board, and help shape the Society’s future.
Our identity and member-led spirit will remain the same, with only a subtle “CIC” added to our existing name. The new structure also reassures potential funders, opening up opportunities for bigger programmes and events that will benefit our textile community.
