The President recently met with Rob Kaye, SME Growth Manager at Kirklees Council, who was quick to dispel a common misconception about the Council’s business support service.

“We’re not here just for growing companies,” Rob explained. “We’re here to help those that are struggling too. We can assist businesses in improving productivity, reducing costs, or addressing other operational challenges.”

While Rob focuses on a specific segment of local enterprises, colleagues across the Council work with businesses of all types and sizes. Together, they help organisations navigate the range of financial and advisory support available — including capital investment, recruitment, and training initiatives.

The support is coordinated through the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, and a weekly email bulletin provides updates on the latest opportunities, grants, and programmes.

For further information, contact Rob Kaye at robert.kaye@kirklees.gov.uk or visit www.businesskirklees.com.
