Huddersfield Textile Society Visits AW Hainsworth & Sons

Huddersfield Textile Society’s annual visit on 9th March was to the 230-year-old company AW Hainsworth & Sons in Pudsey, Leeds, which now employs the 8th generation of Hainsworths!

Fifteen society members were given a two-hour tour of the many specialist processes in this vertical mill based around milled and felted cloths - uniform cloths, billiard cloths and highly specialised felts.

At the end of the visit Society President Stephen Sheard presented Hainsworth manufacturing director Graham Hutton with an engraved crystal as a thank you for an informative day.
