We are pleased to announce that at our AGM on 16th April 2012 Chris Wilkinson took over from Bill Skidmore as President of the society. The comittee would like to thank Bill for all his tremendous work helping to raise the profile of the society and the UK textile industry in general during his 4 year term as president. Our support and best wishes go to Chris as she starts her term as our new president.
The rearranged date for the Bradford Society lecture Laxtons 'The first new spinning mill for a generation" is now May 22nd at the Bradford Club
All Lectures (unless otherwise stated) are held in the lecture hall of the Huddersfield & District Textile Training Co. Ltd., The Textile Centre of Excellence, Red Doles Lane, off Leeds Road, Huddersfield. HD2 1YF.

At this years Annual Dinner and Awards Evening on Thursday 26th April Awards were given to the following:
• Learner of the Year. Intermediate Apprenticeship in Textiles, decided by the Textile Centre of Excellence; JAMES CROSLAND of Westwood Yarns Ltd.
• Learner of the Year. Advanced Apprenticeship in Textiles, decided by the Textile Centre of Excellence; LEANNE COID of James Dewhirst Ltd.
• Best use of textiles in fashion garment, decided by the University of Huddersfield; GURWINDER Gill, unfortunately he couldn’t attend the dinner.
• Creativity in design, decided by the University of Huddersfield; LAURA DAVENPORT.
• Innovation in design, decided by the University of Huddersfield; YOOA KANG.
